Quirky Crafts Challenge - Trains, Planes and Automobiles

The challenge on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog is "Trains,Planes and Automobiles".

I have made a card using the only stamp I have in my stash that would fit in with this challenge!

I have used a page from an old atlas as my backing paper and then stamped onto cream card the car and the messages. The car and the enjoy the journey are T!m stamps and the Happy Birthday is one from Butterfly Kisses.

Scraps!!!

There was a challenge this week over at Quirky Crafts Forum for you to use your scraps on a card.

Thats exactly what I have done. The backing paper is a piece of scrap from my pile and the flower petals are scraps of paper too. The flower petals are the new T!m sizzix die tattered flowers. The flower stem is made by using another of T!ms new dies the Elegant Flourishes and this paper has been in my stash for such a long time. I was dabbling with Alcohol Inks a while ago. The button is a spare one from a blouse and the ribbon was from an old card.

Dog Tag!!!

My son is off out tonight for a friends birthday. They are all dressing up with the theme of "Army".

Ryan asked me to make him a dog tag!

This is how it started out - originally it came from build a bear workshop.

This is the finished results using my TSS metal and my trusted sharpies to age the metal.

Crafting Corner Variety Swap - Wood

The theme for this months variety swap is "Wood".

I have done some wood burning for my project. I stamped an image onto some balsa wood and then got my wood burny tool out and burned along the lines. I then added colour with my pro markers. I put it into a frame and there was a slight gap at either side so I cut some kebab sticks and placed them in the frame.

Inspired by Craft Stamper Mag - Tuesday Taggers - Bugs!

I was inspired by the grungepaper piece made by Linda Elbourne in May's Craft Stamper mag.

I have had a go at my own. I used broken china and faded jeans. Dried marigold and spiced marmalade.Shabby shutters and peeled paint distress inks for the background colours.
Worn lipstick and fired brick for the butterfly and dusty concord for the flower.
Metal bug embellies added and chipboard letters spelling the word "fly".

This also works in perfectly with Tuesday Taggers challenge this week - the theme is insects. They have a fab prize this week sponsored by The Craft Barn

Sunday Stampers - Birds

The theme this week at Sunday Stampers is Birds.

I have done a jigsaw piece. Coloured with Tea dye and Spiced marigold distress inks and stamped with black staz-on (stamps are Tim Holtz)

I added the letters f,l,y and added a bit of glitter glue to them. I thought it needed a little something else so I added a canvas rose which was coloured with distress inks in spiced marigold and fired brick.
Gold pen added to the edges.

Allsorts Challenge Blog - Recycle or alter something

This weeks challenge over at Allsorts is to alter or recycle something.

We have just finished with a pringles tube so I had a go at altering it.

First I cut it down to about half its size and then cut out strips of TSS metal. I coloured the metal with sharpies and then used six different CB embossing folders and ran the metal through the bug. I then lightly sanded down the pieces and stuck them to the tube. I found some letters to spell out the word "Bitz" and stuck them onto one of the panels.

Birthday Cards

I have had to get my thinking cap on to come up with a card for my sons birthday this Wednesday. He will be 22 and I hadn't got a clue as to what to make for him. I have come up with two ideas.
First is a tattoo and second is a car.

Yep I'm pretty safe with the car idea. The tattoo card comes from the fact that he is wanting another tattoo and he is looking at some kind of skull or snake.

I think I will let his dad decide even though I have a pretty good idea as to which he will choose.

Unfortunately they haven't scanned too well - the car is decoupaged and there is some mirri card too.

I don't know who the recipient will be yet but hope that they like them!

Secret Crafter - Stitching

This is a new challenge for me.

I have made a 4x4 Fat Book Page. This is for my friend Caz, she has come up with the idea of using FBPs as a border in her kitchen.

I used 3cm squares and made a patchwork and then drew the stitching on and finally added the image.

Inspiration courtesy of Craft Stamper

Whilst looking through March Craft Stamper mag I came across a piece made by Louise Kolker (Art Journey)using this months free stamp.

I took some TSS aluminium and covered it with Alcohol inks in yellows browns and greem and then used my cuttlebug embossing folder. Then it was slightly sanded and covered on the back of a small square canvas. I stamped the image onto card and used the excess of alcohol inks to colour it and then added some perfect pearls.

So thankyou Louise and Craft Stamper for the inspiration.
